LEWISTON, Idaho – The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has issued a kill permit for a cougar officers believe attacked a horse.
Spokesman Mark Hill says the horse was pastured outside Lewiston city limits Sunday when it was attacked. The animal's owner, Bret Christensen, says his veterinarian is treating the horse for a severe shoulder injury.
Christensen says children frequently play in the same pasture, and he's afraid if a cougar will attack a horse, it won't hesitate to attack a child.
