YAKIMA, Wash.-- The 30th Annual Yakima Folklife Festival kicks off tomorrow night in downtown Yakima and continues all weekend.
On Friday and Saturday night musicians will perform outside six downtown restaurants including Five North and Gilbert Cellars. On Saturday and Sunday, the event will take over Franklin Park all day long, with music on three stages as well as over 50 booths for arts and crafts. The entire festival is completely free to attend.
"It's been thirty years that we've done this with no paid staff and no paid personnel... So this is a volunteer effort that has sustained itself by the support of the community and the support of the musicians," says Yakima Folklife Association President Brian Felix.
The downtown concerts start at seven on Friday and Saturday night and go until eleven. The Franklin Park events start at 11 on Saturday and Sunday and end at four. For more information on the festival, click here.
