3rd grader gets an award from Gov. Chris Gregoire

CLE ELUM, Wash.-- Governor Chris Gregoire gave a special award to a 3rd grade student in the eighth annual Interstate 90 Bridging Futures Art and Essay Contest. Krista Heald, from Mountainview Elementary in Yakima, wrote an essay from the perspective of an elk and was honored for her outstanding creativity.

More than 100 students participated in the contest. 4th grader Axel Oxholm from Burien won the second award for his cartoon style drawings.
