YAKIMA, Wash.-- Several Relay for Life events are happening all over our area this weekend.
Relay teams are raising money to help in the fight against cancer. So far teams in Yakima have raised over $150,000, Kennewick has raised $79,000, and Walla Walla has raised $49,000. The events will also have ceremonies for those who have survived or died from cancer.
"Really what it is... It's a celebration of life and it's a time to come out and really remember people... It's a really good way for you to come out if you don't know what you can do to fight cancer. Come out and check what the relay's all about," says Yakima Relay Organizer Fred Warren.
The Walla Walla relay starts in an hour at Borleske Track, the Kennewick event also starts at six tonight at Southridge High School, and Yakima's relay starts tomorrow at noon in Franklin Park.
