KENNEWICK, Wash.- Drivers throughout the Northwest will pay a lot more for gas than other parts of the country this holiday weekend.
The AAA auto club reports the average price of a gallon of gas in Oregon is $4.22 for the beginning of Memorial Day weekend. That's up 18 cents in the past month and 31 cents higher than a year ago. It's 55 cents higher than the national average.
The AAA auto club reports drivers will find gasoline prices in Washington averaging $4.24 a gallon.That's 14 cents higher than a month ago and 27 cents higher than a year ago. It's 57 cents higher than the national average.
AAA says the average price for gas this weekend in the Tri Cities is $4.13. In Yakima the average is $4.18.

Bellingham $4.39, Bremerton $4.24, Seattle-Bellevue-Everett $4.29, Tacoma $4.27, Olympia $4.28, Vancouver $4.25, and Spokane $3.97.
