SELAH, Wash. -- The wet weather didn't stop the cycling enthusiasts from coming out to ride through the Yakima River Canyon, Sunday morning.
This is the ninth year for the "Your Canyon For a Day" bike tour.
Organizers say up to 1,500 people from all across the country participate each year.
The event ran from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Cyclists could start from either the Roza Recreation area or from Thrall Road on the Ellensburg side.
The course is approximately 35-miles round trip from Yakima to Ellensburg.
Volunteers with Yakima County Crime Stoppers, the Yakima Police Department, and the Yakima County Sheriff's Office all helped at Sunday's event.
There were also citizen volunteers who were patrolling the course for anyone in need of assistance or repairs.
All of the money raised helps to support Yakima County Crime Stoppers, for paying rewards on tips and covering operational expenses.
