Walla Walla octopus case may go to Supreme Court

Posted: Updated:

WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) - The state Supreme Court may decide whether a mural of a purple octopus on a Walla Walla toy store is a violation of the city's sign code or the owner's free speech right.

So far, courts have ruled in favor of the city, but Inland Octopus owner Bob Catsiff will ask Washington's high court for a review.

City fines for the sign code violation are going up at $100 a day and now total more than $58,000.
