The Spokane Shock brought back championship quarterback Kyle Rowley and they are still in last place in the West Division.

So what gives?

The Arena Football League is definitely a quarterback-driven league. Great – not average or good – quarterback play equals success. Head coach Andy Olson admits his go-to-guy, Rowley, didn't play to the best of his abilities last week at Utah. And he hopes that changes. And fast.

"[Rowley] didn't play well last week, didn't play great," said Olson. "He played good but he didn't play great. He made two poor decisions – two interceptions. On one, he just didn't see a DB. The other one – he just tried to force it because we were going into the half. He's a tremendous quarterback. He at times get greedy and at times he tries to do too much by himself."

Olson said it comes down to one thing with Rowley. Trust.

"Once we get the trust issue a little bit better, get him some more chemistry with his receivers, I think he'll start to play even better."

The Shock host New Orleans Friday night at Spokane Arena in a late game – an 8 p.m. start. The game can be seen live on SWX and SWXRightNow.com, and on mobile devices through the Syncbak app.
