RICHLAND, Wash. - On Thursday, the Energy Northwest board to put $711 million toward nuclear fuel for the power plant near Richland, for fuel that would be used in 2021.

The Energy Department says the idea would be to sell some of the fuel for $731 million to the Tennessee Valley Authority, which has seven nuclear plants, which would ultimately save tax payers money.
