BURBANK, Wash. The Washington State Department of Transportation Friday closes a stretch of State Route 124 in Burbank for the rest of the week as the DOT prepares to open the new interchange and overpass.
The interchange and overpass aim to make it safer where SR 124 meets Highway 12. Over the years, there have been several crashes, some deadly.
The DOT will close SR 124 to South Lake Road starting at 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. Workers will guide drivers around the construction at Humorist Road.
The SR 124 onramp to westbound Highway 12 toward Pasco will close Friday night for 10 days. Traffic will be detoured at South Lake Road to Humorist.
The DOT says it's on schedule to finish the project this fall.
