RICHLAND, Wash., -- This morning, the Washington State Cougar baseball team proved that the baseball diamond isn't the only place to hit a home run.
Sixteen freshmen and sophomores visited Kadlec Regional Medical Center this morning before practice for the Cougar Diamond Classic.
The Cougars visited the pediatric unit as well as other patients at the hospital during their trip.
"We got to look around and then I got to meet the families," said Sophomore Catcher Collin Slaybaugh. "From then on it really made it a great day. I mean, we play a baseball game later but this will be the highlight of the day."
The Cougars take on the Pilots of Portland University tonight at Gesa Stadium in the Cougar Diamond Classic.
