KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Last year's winner of the TV show The Biggest Loser was in town Saturday to play in a charity golf tournament at the Canyon Lakes Golf Course.

The Ed Troxel Scholarship Golf Tournament raises money for high school student athletes in the Tri-Cities to go on to higher education.

Ed Troxel coached biggest loser winner John Rhode on the Kennewick High School football team.

"Being able to help a student go to college is an amazing gift and in some ways I get to pay back coach Ed Troxel for all the gifts he gave me, for believing in me," says Rhode.

The golf tournament raised $18,000 for the scholarship fund and about eighty people participated.
