Potala Travel, a Tibetan-run tour organization, launched a new website to help potential clients arrange Tibet tours. The site highlights the organization’s focus on responsible, sustainable tourism and promoting local Tibetan businesses.

The site offers descriptions of the trips in three categories: spiritual journeys, cultural odysseys, and trekking adventures. The spiritual journeys focus on pilgrimage treks and visits to Buddhist holy sites, cultural odysseys include visits to religious sites and historical monuments, and trekking adventures are overland hiking and climbing tours over the rugged landscape to scenic lakes and mountains. Customers can also tailor-make their own trips by working with the organizers through the website. There is also pertinent travel information listed on the site, along with testimonials from former clients.

The new website features Potala Travel’s mission statement: “We ask everyone to minimize their impact on the environment by using recyclable materials, packing out your own trash, and educating others on responsible travel.
