More than 75 security software vendors have received OPSWAT Certification for their products, ensuring that their applications are compatible with leading SSL VPN and NAC solutions.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 03, 2012
OPSWAT today announced the awarding of the 600th OPSWAT Certification. Verifying the compatibility of security applications with leading network and technology solutions, OPSWAT Certification is the industry standard for interoperability certification.
OPSWAT operates the OPSWAT Certification Program with the goal of promoting and expanding interoperability in the software industry. Enabled by direct partnerships between software vendors, OPSWAT, and technology solution vendors, OPSWAT Certification reduces the hassles encountered due to multiple technologies being unable to communicate.
Using OPSWAT Certified products helps reduce compatibility issues for both home and corporate users, as well as for system administrators and software vendors. When connecting to a school or corporate network, or when working remotely, OPSWAT Certification is important to ensure that access isn’t unnecessarily denied. System administrators should choose OPSWAT Certified products when selecting a new product for their organization or when recommending one to guests or employees working from home. The benefits of OPSWAT Certification are explained on OPSWAT’s website, with videos geared towards both home users and software vendors.
“We are excited about the momentum the program has gained and the commitment that our partners are showing to compatibility,” said Elisse Lockhart, Partner Marketing Manager at OPSWAT. “We plan to continue to build the program to ensure that more vendors’ products are compatible with the solutions utilized by millions of users.”
OPSWAT has been certifying security applications for compatibility since 2007, but has increased the reach of the program significantly in the past year. Since April 2011, more than 180 individual applications have been submitted for certification, and over 250 separate certifications have been awarded. The number of Certified Partners has almost doubled in the past year, with 78 participating vendors holding OPSWAT Certifications for products in 15 different categories, including antivirus, backup, antiphishing, firewall and more.
Sorin Mustaca, Product Manager at Avira, an OPSWAT Certified Partner, commented, “Avira has been involved with OPSWAT Certification for several years, and we continue to work with OPSWAT on Gold Certification for our products. We believe that industry-wide compatibility is a very important feature for any security application.”
Users and system administrators are encouraged to contact their software vendor to request that they submit their security application for free OPSWAT Certification. Vendors wishing to join the program should visit http://www.opswat.com/certified/partners or contact certification[at]opswat[dot]com.
