KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A new restaurant coming to Kennewick is definitely generating some excitement because it's the first of its kind in the Tri-Cities.
Fujiyama Japanese Steakhouse and Bar is already under construction in the Southridge area, next to Bob's Burgers and Brew. It's going to be a 5,000 square foot Hibachi Grill style restaurant, where trained chefs cook the food right in front of you. It will also have assorted Japanese food and sushi.
"The chefs that work at Fujiyama have minimum of five years experience. We are serving sea food, steak, chicken, fish. So we're going to cook everything in front on the table, in front of customers," says owner Peter Chen who has two other Fujiyama restaurants in Washington.
Chen is hoping to open by June 15th and says the prices are reasonable, between $10-$30 for dinner. He also says the restaurant will hire about 40 workers.
