OCEANSIDE, Ore. – Tillamook County sheriff's deputies say a skydiver's helmet-camera could help explain how the man fell to his death, if deputies can find it.
Matthew Gold, 34, of Salt Lake City, died Saturday after his parachute failed to open on time. He was attending an annual paragliders event near the Tillamook Airport.
Deputies say Gold was wearing a wingsuit, a one-piece suit with wings under each arm and one wing between the legs.
Sheriff Andy Long says he believes someone took Gold's helmet cameras, which are evidence in the investigation.
Friends describe Gold as an experienced skydiver whose passion for the sport took him all over the world.
