Tri-Cities Fever getting it done with defense

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A stifling defensive effort last Friday has the Tri-Cities Fever still undefeated at 8-0.

The defense came up with its biggest game of the season against New Mexico, recording five sacks, seven tackles-for-loss and two interceptions. The Fever also allowed just three points in the second-half. The defense says it is playing the best it has all season long.

"I mean I feel think we played very, very well. I feel like we're really coming together as a defense as a whole. Everyone knows their part they need to play on the defense and I think that's turning and making us into a very successful defense," linebacker Boris Lee said.

"This practice and the week after coach gave us a few goals to reach as a defense you know. Get a certain amount of stops, get a certain amount of sacks and a certain amount of turnovers. We took that to the head and it was a big challenge for us and we wanted to come out on top," linebacker Brandon Wilson said.
