UPDATE May 1, HERMISTON, Oreg. - Authorities say the woman from Hermiston who disappeared last week was kidnapped by her former boyfriend, an agricultural worker who has served time for attempted rape.
26-year-old Melody Kaye Mickel has been missing since she left work Thursday at the drugstore where she is assistant manager.
Authorities have issued an arrest for 28-year-old Alberto Quiroz Martinez, a registered sex offender with a history of kidnapping.
Investigators say that after they were called in, officers found blood and signs of a struggle at Martinez's home, though not enough to suggest a killing.
