SPOKANE, Wash. - State liquor control agents say bouncers and clerks have recently seized more than 100 fake ID's in the past month from Gonzaga students trying to buy alcohol at Spokane stores, taverns and bars.
Agents say students are ordering fake IDs online, and while the liquor control board says the ID's are high quality, they're not perfect.
Liquor control agents are now planning some undercover stings in Spokane. Trying to use a fake ID is a misdemeanor with a $250 fine.
Gonzaga students also face school code of conduct sanctions. Assistant Dean of Students Jeff Hart says underage drinking can lead to assaults or other crimes on campus.
