SEATTLE,Wash.- Kiona-Benton High School and Connell High School are among 274 schools receiving honors for their efforts to improve student achievement and graduation rates.
The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education collaborate on The Washington Achievement Awards, which they presented Wednesday in a ceremony in Everett.
The annual awards recognize schools for overall excellence and special recognition in language, arts, math, and science. Honors also go to schools that show the most improvement in subject areas or in extended graduation rates or by closing the achievement gap between different ethnic or economic groups.
