YAKIMA, Wash.-- Wineries in our area are preparing for spring barrel tasting this weekend. It's one of the biggest wine weekends of the year.
Over wineries 50 are participating this year, from Gilbert Cellars and Kana Winery in Yakima all the way to the Terra Blanca Winery in Benton City. They'll give visitors a preview of some of their upcoming wines. The event attracts large crowds from across the northwest.
Wine makers won't just give people a sneak peak at their newest wines; they'll also answer questions about the wine making process. Many wineries will also have discounts and deals to celebrate the weekend.
Visitors can also buy a premier pass, which will waive tasting fees and get them further discounts at some of the wineries. You can pick up premier passes at the Yakima Visitors and Convention Bureau building at 101 North Fair Avenue and at participating wineries on Friday and Saturday. They cost 45 dollars.
