Northwest Harvest gets a big donation

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- Another big donation for Northwest Harvest in Yakima. They received a $100,000 check from Wells Fargo.

The money will help buy 454,000 meals for hungry families in Washington state.

This year marks the 160th anniversary of Wells Fargo, so to celebrate the company donated money to three non-profits around the state.

Northwest Harvest earned the most votes from customers last month and received the bulk of the money.

"You know at the heart of everything we do within Wells Fargo we want to help our community and our clients succeed financially and we felt like this was a good way to give back to our community," said Don Collins with Wells Fargo.

Northwest Harvest is Washington's only statewide food bank distributor, providing 1.6 million meals each month.
