NEW ORLEANS, La.- The general manager of the New Orleans Saints says allegations he eavesdropped on opposing coaches is "1000 percent false," and Mickey Loomis says he's "reviewing legal recourse."
ESPN has aired a report citing anonymous sources who described a setup in the Superdome that would have allowed the general manager to eavesdrop on opponents from 2002 to 2004.
ESPN could not verify the team ever used the system. Still, the alleged actions would violate NFL rules, if not state and federal laws.
Police and a FBI task force are investigating the allegations. State police Col. Mike Edmonson says the task force is examining whether there were possible violations of state or federal wiretapping laws.
