SEATAC, Wash. – Starting Tuesday, some passengers at Sea-Tac Airport can whip through the security line without having to take off their shoes and belts and removing laptops and liquids from their carry-on bags.
The Transportation Security Administration is letting Alaska Airlines try out an expedited screening program called PreCheck.
To be eligible, passengers must belong to Alaska's frequent flier program, and be pre-approved by TSA. Members of expedited border crossing programs run by the Customs and Border Protection, such as Nexus are also eligible for the expedited screening program.
