YAKIMA, Wash.-- Washington State recycled over 9 million pounds of electronic waste between January and March this year.
The numbers come from the Department of Ecology. They're encouraging people to drop off old electronics at e-recycling spots.
Devices like computers, TVs, and cell phones have harmful and toxic chemicals in them. E-recycling safely gets rid of them.
Here's a breakdown of the numbers in our area. Yakima County recycled 214,602 pounds, Benton County had 163,318, Franklin County had 29,738, and Walla Walla County had 77,605.
