PROSSER, Wash. -- A truly bizarre incident happened in a Prosser grave site when two men were kidnapped by a man impersonating a police officer.
According to police, 26 year old Rodolfo Hurtado came to the grave site and armed with a gun and handcuffs ordered two men on the ground. Police add Hurtado recruited another man at the funeral service to handcuff the men and then place them in his truck.
The kidnapper was stopped by police on his to the police station and arrested for kidnapping.
Police are still investigating why Hurtado did this, but they add one way to prevent this from happening to you is to ask for I D.
"If it's a situation where there isn't a weapon implied, or shown ask to see identification. We carry identification with us , with our department name on it, and it will tell you who we are," explains Prosser Police Detective Mark Cole.
Hurtado was arrested on two counts of kidnapping and assault in the second degree. He's behind bars at the Benton County Jail on a 72 hour hold.
