Chiefs Win Overtime Thriller 3-2, Even Series with Am's

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Chiefs evened the series with the Americans at two games a piece, defeating Tri-City in a thrilling overtime win 3-2.

Collin Valcourt put the Chiefs up early with an unassisted goal three minutes and 42 seconds into the game. Mitch Holmberg then scored at the 11:13 mark on a power play, giving Spokane a 2-0 lead in the first period. Holmberg was assisted by Davis Vandane and Todd Fiddler.

Derek Ryckman got the Americans on the board in the second period with a goal at the 3:00 mark. Adam Hughesman assisted on Ryckman's goal, and he followed that assist up with a goal of his own on a power play at 12:32, tying up the game 2-2.

The third period was a defensive battle as both teams went scoreless. Tri-City took six shots in the third while Spokane took ten.

Dominik Uher became the hero of the game, scoring a backhand goal 6:28 into the overtime period on an assist by Valcourt, giving the Chiefs a critical win.

Goalie Eric Williams had 33 saves on 35 shots for Spokane.

The two teams will travel to the Tri-Cities for game five and battle for a 3-2 lead in the series tomorrow. The puck will drop at the Toyota Center at 7:05 p.m.
