SPOKANE, Wash. -
Saturday will mark Kyle Rowley's first home game in Spokane since the end of last season.
The quarterback who was shunned and then brought back to replace an injured Erik Meyer is fitting in fine as many would expect. True, he lost to Arizona last week in his first game back. But few are worried about this veteran's ability to grasp coach Andy Olsen's familiar system.
"I felt good, I felt comfortable, and I felt great about the play-calling and what my receivers are doing out there," said Rowley of last week's game in Arizona. "I thought the defense played a great game. I'm really comfortable right now. Obviously I'm not that far removed from last year's offense."
"We have a long week this week, we have four days to practice and a lot of reps with these receivers, and he's going to get a chance to get more comfortable with the offense and to adjust to the timing and learn their speeds," said Olsen.
Last week Rowley passed for 271 yards and accounted for four touchdowns, including a four yard run that ended with a dive into the corner of the end zone for a score.
Saturday's game against Milwaukee is at Spokane Arena at 7 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on SWX-TV.
