The Kennewick School District is offering a class on chickens.
It's one of many community education classes this Spring.
Instructors say there's a lot to learn including laws regarding chicken ownership, where to get chicks, and general chicken care.
Instructor Cathy Perkins says she loves her chickens, and their eggs.
"The Road Island Reds lay a brown or tan colored egg, the larger hens have larger eggs, each chicken is different. Just like they have their own personality, they have their own egg."
