RICHLAND, Wash.-- People gathered today for the annual Kite Festival at Columbia Point Marina Park in Richland.
Kite enthusiast, Greg Greger, has been running the event for fifteen years. He and his late wife Margaret, an author of kite books, wanted to bring people together to fly kites. He likes how this time of year gets people out flying kites.
"In April, people begin getting warm weather, spring and all that. And those who are interested in kites think, time to fly, and I agree with that," said Greger.
Greger teaches students and boy scouts how to make kites in his free time.
