YAKIMA, Wash--Many people all around the state are seeing large plumes of smoke and think Mount St. Helens is erupting.
But all the smoke is actually from a large forest fire on Mount Adams, just southwest of Yakima. The elevation of the fire is about three-thousand feet so it's easily visible across the state. Around 500 acres have burned. At this time no homes are threatened. The fire is believed to have been sparked by lightning.
