Champion Boxer Featured on ESPN Visits Hermiston School

Hermiston -- A Portland, Oregon boxer who's made a name for himself on ESPN was in Hermiston this morning.

David Banks, featured on "The Contender," spoke to hundreds of kids at Armand Larive Middle School. The boxer, whose record is 14-2, shared a simple message: Whatever you do, don't stop following your dreams. Banks was working a minimum wage job three years ago when he walked into a gym to try his hand at boxing. He quickly went pro, and now has a five year contract with ESPN.
