WHITE SWAN, Wash. -- It took firefighters nearly four hours to get a fire under control at a sawmill in White Swan Friday morning.
Yakima County District 5 received the call of a structure fire just after midnight in the 300 block of Medicine Valley Road.
Crews arrived to heavy smoke coming from the exterior vent of the air handler system.
Personnel with the Yakama Forest Products were actively putting water on the exterior areas of the air system as fire crews arrived.
Firefighters believe the fire started from a mechanical failure in the re-saw portion of the mill.
Fire caused about $25,000 in damage.
The fire was out by around 4:15 a.m, that's when YCFD turned the property over to Yakama Forest Products.
