KENNWICK, Wash-- A huge lotto hit and an $8.8 million Jackpot ticket sold in the Tri-Cities.
The winning lotto ticket was sold from the Safeway store in Richland but the winner has yet to claim their fortune.
For the first time in the store's history, they have sold a Jackpot winning lotto ticket. They even have the receipt to prove it. The winning numbers are 05-14-19-31-35-45.
The numbers were announced Monday night and it's the first time a winning Jackpot ticket has been sold in the Tri-Cities since 2000. The Safeway company will receive $88,000 for making the big sale.
"It was just shocking. I wanted to definitely verify it first and after I did, I was just surprised and delighted, so I went around and told all the employees about it" said Nate Payne, the Safeway manager.
Once the winner comes forward he or she will be able to choose the cash option, which means getting 50% of the jackpot right away, or the annuity option, which pays $264,000 a year for 25 years.
