KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Owners of Cupcakes Bakery and Deli are planning to donate all of Thursday's profits to the March of Dimes.
They're calling the event "Cupcakes for Babies". Workers started baking at 5 a.m. and they planned on selling about 500 cupcakes. Owner Milli Boggan said it was an honor to donate to March of Dimes because she has two cousins, now teenagers, who were helped by the organization after being born premature.
The bakery opened about three weeks ago and Boggan says their cupcakes are usually sold out by noon. She expects an even busier day Thursday.
"One of the things we've found out since we opened this business -- it's like friends", said Boggan. "Friends meet here. They come in, they have a cupcake, they talk. They talk to us like we're in their kitchen. We're excited about that".
Cupcakes Bakery and Deli is located at 308 W. Kennewick Avenue.
