RICHLAND, Wash. - Washington Congressman Doc Hastings was in Richland Tuesday night.
Three cadets with the Civil Air Patrol which is the official Auxiliary of the United States Air Force were presented with the Billy Mitchell Award.
Garrett LeFebre of Pasco, Robert Pfaff of Pasco, Skeetz Guilbeaua of Othello each received the award.
The prestigious award could help them get ahead in their military career later in life.
The event took place at Civil Air Patrol building near the Richland Airport.
According to their website, the main goals of the Civil Air Patrol is to educate people about aerospace, provide emergency services and disaster relief for those in distress, and the cadet program.
Hastings said, "This is a great program ... It's just part of an overall training that young people can benefit by."
After the awards were given out some of the younger cadets got to ask Hastings about his job.
They wanted to know if he had been to Iraq, his proudest moments, and if he ever gets bored at work. He told them he only gets bored on the plane when he has to fly from Washington State to D-C.
