Josh Hamilton hit a two-run homer. Alberto Callaspo matched his career high with four hits, driving in two runs during the Angels' seven-run sixth inning.

(AP) - Oregon State used a seven-run fourth inning to break open the game against mistake-prone Louisville, and the Beavers stayed alive in the College World Series with an 11-4 victory yesterday. The No. 3 national seed Beavers play another elimination game tomorrow against Mississippi State or Indiana.
(AP) - Justin Gatlin is surging with confidence heading into the U.S. championships this week after beating the world's fastest sprinter in a 100-meter race. Not only did Gatlin beat Usain Bolt, but he blazed right by him after the Jamaican jumped out to an early lead during a competition in Rome nearly two weeks ago. Gatlin's itching for a rematch at worlds later this summer on an even bigger stage and with more eyes watching.
SALEM, Ore. (AP) -Police in Oregon say they have arrested the driver who fatally struck a Seattle man trying to dribble a soccer ball 10,000 miles from Seattle to Brazil for the World Cup. Scott Van Hiatt, of Neskowin, was arrested yesterday on a charge of criminally negligent homicide. Richard Swanson was hit from behind by a pickup last month while walking south along U.S. 101 near Lincoln City.
