RICHLAND, Wash.-- Washington State University Tri-Cities celebrated it's 20th year in Richland with a party Saturday. University leaders say 20 years is a landmark for the campus which has always been an educational facility.
Sidney Bartlett was the Director of Admissions and Records from 1978, when the campus was the Joint Center for Graduate Studies, until 1999. WSU took over the Richland campus in 1989, so Bartlett's seen it change a lot. She says, "A lot of the things that have happened, as far as becoming a four-year university, were dreams that we had at the time that I was there. So, it's been a joy to me to see a lot of these dreams being fulfilled." She also says there used to be only one building and now it's grown.
Early numbers show more than 700 people showed up today.
