Hollywood fashion at the Oscars

Beyonce arrived wearing a black and gold mermaid style gown from House of Dereon, the ready-to-wear line that she and her mother Tina Knowles introduced.

Hollywood's hottest couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wore matching black; he wore a Tom Ford Tux, while she donned an Elie Saab gown and striking Lorraine Schwartz drop earrings.

Winner of the Best Actor award for "Milk," Sean Penn was looking dapper in Giorgio Armani next to the beautiful Robin Wright Penn, who wore a Monique Lluillier dress.

"Mamma Mia" star Amanda Seyfried looked glamorous in a Valentino gown, loose curls, and Fred Leighton jewels.

R&B singer John Legend arrived in a cocoa-colored tux with his model girlfriend Christy Teigen at the Kodak Theater where he sang WALL-E's Oscar nominated song, 'Down To Earth.'

Former Best Actress winners Marion Cotillard and Sophia Loren paused for a photo together as they walked down the red carpet.

"High School Musical" stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens take a minute for an interview. Her black and white Marchesa gown pairs nicely with his Dolce & Gabanna tux.

Dev Patel, Frieda Pinto, Madhur Mittal and director Danny Boyle of Best Picture winner "Slumdog Millionaire" walking down the red carpet. Pinto sparkled in a John Galliano gown next to her co-star Patel who wore a Burberry tux.

Presenter Miley Cyrus looked like a Disney princess in sequined Zuhair Murad gown. Cyrus lent her voice to "Bolt," which was nominated for Best Animated feature.

Amy Adams, Meryl Streep, and Viola Davis were all nominated for their roles in "Doubt." Adams stands out in a crimson Carolina Herrera gown next to Streep who's wearing a custom Alberta Ferretti dress and Davis who shimmers in a Reem Acra number.

Nominated for her role in "The Wrestler," Marisa Tomei looked gorgeous in Atelier Versace satin organza ball gown.

Best Actress Kate Winslet, Best Actor Sean Penn and Best Supporting Actress Penelope Cruz smile as they clutch their Oscars. Winslet wore an asymmetrical Atelier Yves Saint Laurent gown and Cruz went classic with a white vintage Balmain gown.

Hollywood's stars got dressed up to strut their stuff down the red carpet of the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles for the 2009 Academy Awards. More than a celebration of their acting performances, the night becomes a fashion frenzy with photographers and actors alike turning heads to see what everyone is wearing.
